Yeuch...

Current status: That time of the month, to-do list two miles long, encroaching headache. Yeuch. Not to mention I have a ton of things I want to post here. Oh well, let's give it a whirl. Toy Fair this year was a bit blah. I had been hoping for Mattel to reveal the new Monster Exchange dolls, but either they didn't bring them, or they were in the off-limits area. Poo.
We did get better pics of everything (almost) from The Grand Old Survey Leak, and I stand by what I said then: Freak du Chic is the best line they've ever put out, and possibly the first one where I'll be keeping everything in box. Well, I might do, if the boxes share the same excellent aestethics that the dolls and playset have. As for BYBY, I was definately spot on about Mouscedes, and Astra, while very interesting and detailed, is also a definite nope. EAH was... well, to be honest I'm having some horribly mixed feelings about everything EAH right now. I've grown to like several of the new dolls that I initially did not find appealing, but this also makes me sad, because it seems that EAH is being phazed out here way up north. Everything's on clearance, and no new items are being stocked, which pretty much spells doom for the hope of new stuff coming here. So while I now am very interested in Alistair, Bunny and Rosabella, I don't foresee a future where I'll be able to check them out in-store. Not to mention Lizzie and Duchess. I also rather like the new Frozen Fever dolls of Ana and Elsa, but I'm not too keen on Mattels' Disney dolls, so nah. The Hasbro booth was fun though. I don't collect Equestria Girls, but by golly, they'd really pulled out all the stops this time around. Very much looking forward to the next film. Playmates had a butt-load of TMNT on show, but since the only figure I'm after is Rah-zarr, who has proven nigh impossible to find (Squirrel-a-noids everywhere though), I really didn't pay much attention to their offerings, apart from the Half-Shell Heroes line. Like, O-M-G, I need that smiling Leo, he's just too cute! Oh, and the Dream Beavers gave me a good chuckle. After all these years, I still don't own a single POP! figure by Funko, but seeing the wee bitty tenth Doctor is really pushing me further towards the edge. And last we have Tonner, who seem to be pulling the one doll I've ever fallen in love with made by them, namely Maudlynne Macabre. Last year they showed several fantastic outfits, as well as her ghost-buddy, which made me very excited, and I've been waiting all year for the outfits at least to come out so that I could justify the shipping costs by buying more than just one item at one time. Now however, I'm debating over if I should just bite the sour apple and just get her before she's gone, because she's so damn adorable...
I also recently had a birthday, which essentially means I'm officially not a twenty-something anymore, and a whole lot of getting spoiled rotten. I was so touched by how many well-wishes I got, the fact that my big sis was around for my birtday dinner, and that everyone just genuinely seemed to care about me. I still feel all warm and fuzzy inside <3 As for a bit of bragging, I recieved some wonderful gifts: Four delicious perfumes from hubby that I absolutely adore (Katy Perry's Killer Queen immediately became my signature scent,, and I fear I might have to get myself a large bottle soon so I don't have to worry about it running out lol), a lovely Victorias Secret body mist from sis, as well as a huge wooden box full of Faber Castell coloured pencils that I'm still in awe over from my mums cousin and my second cousins! And, since I used the money I recieved from various family, I in a round-about way also recieved the Monster High graphic novels, volume one and two of the Buffy season 8 comic collection, a gorgeous velvet jacket, two lovely dresses, a Vixxsin cardigan that may possibly be the radest piece of clothing I've ever seen in my life, a pair of platform pvc boots, a new spiked collar, pair of adorable earrings, a book on the Art Nouveau style, Sweet Screams Frankie, Legacy Day Raven and Apple, and Ashlynn and Hunter. Gotta say, feels good to be getting back into the alternative fashion world, I missed it. In fact, it feels kind of like getting myself back. And I have my wonderful family to thank for it.
We also recieved our latest package of Japanese goodies the other week, and we're expecting another in a week or three. I can honestly say that I am head over heals for my Megahouse Cure Lemonade action figure, she is perfect! And I managed to blow DH's socks off with the rest of the figures. He was stunned at how gorgeous Diana and Morte are, and even truly dug the EVA mermaids. But the one thing that surprised us both was just how frickin' ginormous the DPCF Naruto figure was! We SO need to get Sasuke and Sakura later this year, because dang, that'll make for an impressive set up. Looking forward to the next box as well, especially because it contains Rain, Fine and Mew Ichigo, as well as my Precure figure haul. The Heartcatch girls are going by my computer, where I keep my top favourites XD
