Just two more sleeps, then we're off on our Tokyo adventure - and I think I'm starting to get butterflies. This'll officially be the farthest I've ever travelled. and the second farthest anyone in my family has ever gone. Apart from the old man of course, he did visit Yokohama harbour back in the seventies with one of the ships he worked on, but that's neither here nor there seeing as he's too dead to share his experiences with anyone. Right now I'm trying to focus on what I'm most looking forward to, as opposed to the things I dread. 1. Ueno Zoo. While we do have zoo's here, they're ridiculously expensive to visit, too far away for a day trip, and to be honest, don't really have that many interesting species. Ueno has red pandas, pygme hippos and BATS. To me, this is very exciting. 2. Melon Pan. Not the conbini, pre-packed stuff, but the real, freshly baked sweet goodness from a renowned bakery in Asakusa. Yum. 3. Vending machines! I mean, c'mon; the have like EVERYTHING in those dang machines. 4. Uber-nerding it in Nakano, Akihabara and Ikebukuro. Duh. 5. The Sailor Moon exhibition in Roppongi <3 <3 <3 Not necessarily in that order, but definitely my top 5 things to think about right now. Feeling a tiny pang of guilt though, since dropping off kitty at my mums' earlier, but she loves her gramma, and she seemed happy enough with the change of venue, so hopefully she'll be allright. But anyway, seriously excited, and trying not to panic.
